How the HKZMB crossing works

HK port (Tuen Mun / Lantau) → 55 km bridge → Zhuhai highway port / Macau port. Passengers clear 3-jurisdiction procedures in one shot (HK departure → mainland arrival); cross-border section ~20 min.

Procedure

1. Arrive at HK port — passengers disembark, clear HK departure (~5 min)
2. Re-board, cross the bridge (~25 min drive)
3. Arrive at Zhuhai highway port — passengers clear mainland arrival (~10 min)
4. Re-board; driver handles vehicle paperwork; direct to destination

Note: HKZMB is the only cross-border route where passengers must exit the vehicle. Shenzhen Bay / Huanggang are checkpoint procedure confirmed before travels.

Do I really have to get out at the HKZMB border?

Yes. This is the only cross-border route currently requiring a passenger exit. HK port: exit for HK departure stamp → re-board → Zhuhai port: exit for mainland arrival stamp. Two brief exits, 5–10 min each.

Can we detour via Shenzhen instead?

Technically yes (Shenzhen Bay → Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link → Zhuhai), but that's 2.5 h and HKD 1320+ — the HKZMB direct route is strictly better.

Where exactly at Chimelong Ocean Kingdom?

Main entrance. Hotel guests can be dropped at Chimelong Hengqin Bay Hotel or Penguin Hotel entrance.

Pickup from Zhuhai Airport (ZUH) to HK?

Yes. Zhuhai Airport is in the RMB 1200 / HKD 1300 fare band. Actual travel time depends on the Hong Kong destination, border processing and road traffic; advance booking is recommended.
